how long have you been writing? all my life

what was your first completed book? it was called The Late Unpleasantness...and it will never see the light of day lol!

what was your first published book? Bound By Love

what books do you have available now and where can they be found? Bound By Love, Under Cover of the Moon, Bad Moon Rising, and Invasion Earth (releasing tomorrow are at Cobblestone Press. Friendly Fire is at Freya's Bower.

why do you write? I don't know if I have a good answer for this one. *shrug* It's just want I do.

how much time do you spend writing each week? Probably about 20 hours.

what does your favorite writing space look like? I have a nice desk area, but I get most of my writing done on the loveseat in my bedroom or the table in te back yard.

tell us about your muse (if you have one). don't have one.

what do you read for pleasure? lately, cyberpunk and urban fantasy.

do you work outside of writing? If so, at what? Yes, I have three kids. Lots of work. ;D No real job though. Photography sporatically.

outside of writing what do you do for fun? Um, fun? I hang out with my family. That's about it.

where do you get your ideas for stories and characters? Everywhere and nowhere. I'm always jotting ideas down that seem to come out of the blue or sometimes they are a spin off of something I saw or heard.

of your books, do you have a favorite? Defending Serenity

of your characters, do you have a favorite? Boyd Graham from Defending Serenity.

are any of your characters modeled after you? Lol funny you ask this. My hubby read something of mine last night and he said my heroines are not like real women, but then again neithe am I. Make of that what ever you will lol.


if you were to add a question to this interview what would you want to share?

bonus~ if you could have any paranormal power, what would you choose? and why? I would loooove to be able to teleport. I hate driving long distance with the kids and I do it pretty regularly.

Although I don't have any kids I'd argue the point that being a mother is definitely a full time job and *very* real. <G> And I totally agree on the telaporting. What a blessing that would be!

how long have you been writing? almost 5 years now with the intent of publication

what was your first completed book? a really horrible literary women's fiction book called Her Naked Heart.

what was your first published book? GOING DOWN with Cobblestone Press!

what books do you have available now and where can they be found? I have 4 books available, and just got contracts for 2 more! GOING DOWN, SNOWDRIFT, VARGAS GIRL, and MOONLIGHTING. You can find links for purchasing plus exceprts on my website.

why do you write? Because I love to do it, and it is one of the few things I'm really good at.

how much time do you spend writing each week? Depends on the enthusiasm and inspiration for a story. I am a 'spurt' sort of writer. I can write a lot in a short period of time, but I can't keep doing that for hours and hours and hours. I need a lot of breaks inbetween. I have also noticed there is a maximum creativity output for me. I think it was somewhere around 25 pages in one day. That I can't sustain. I can do that for one fabulous evening/afternoon, and then I am spent.

what does your favorite writing space look like? A huge mess. I have a desktop Mac that I use on a poor little desk that is covered in papers and bills and lots of dust.

tell us about your muse (if you have one). I don't really see myself as having a muse, just one crazy messed up brain.

what do you read for pleasure? I love historical romance and thrillers (of the non-cop variety) and a bit of horror.

do you work outside of writing? If so, at what? Right now I work from home running a B&B and doing some tech writing on the side. I'd love to just rely on my writing for my income, but right now that is just a pipe dream.

outside of writing what do you do for fun? I love to bake. I also love to sing and take walks. I also like playing the piano, but I haven't owned one in years.

where do you get your ideas for stories and characters? sometimes from news stories, sometimes I have no frickin' clue. My favorite inspiration story was when I was browsing Netflix about a year or so ago. I saw this title that just really made me go: OMG, what a great idea for a story! Now, my title is sort of similar, but not the same. I just finished that book...a paranormal suspense of the mainstream variety. Here's to hoping another bizarre blast of inspiration comes my way.

of your books, do you have a favorite? My favorite is always the newest one I'm writing.

of your characters, do you have a favorite? I really, really love this beta hero I created for a book that's under my bed. His name is Will, and he's scruffy and sweet and adorable. But can be kick ass when necessary.

are any of your characters modeled after you? I'm sure they are. I find that each of my heroines are a little like me. Sort of reserved or quiet. More introverted, I guess.

if you were to add a question to this interview what would you want to share?

How do you motivate yourself to write on a particularly bad day?

My answer would be: I try to write myself out of it. I try to remind myself that I have had many suck ass days in the past, and I always managed to pull through them.

bonus~ if you could have any paranormal power, what would you choose? and why?

I would go with invisibility, because there have been many situations in life where I wish I could be the fly on the wall, listening in.
